If you buy sneakers online in Pakistan, you will meet fakes. They are most common on high-demand models such as the Air Jordan 1, Air Force 1 and Air Max. No single check is perfect, but together these steps catch most counterfeits before you pay.
1. Compare the box label and the shoe tag
On genuine Nike pairs, the style code on the box label should match the code printed on the tag inside the shoe. Mismatched codes, blurry printing, spelling mistakes or odd fonts are warning signs. If the seller has no box, ask for a clear photo of the inside tag instead.
2. Look at stitching and finishing
Original pairs usually have even, tight stitching with consistent spacing. Glue marks on the midsole, wavy stitch lines, loose threads and uneven panels deserve a closer look.
3. Check the shape
Every popular model has a recognisable silhouette. Compare the toe box, heel shape and overall proportions with photos from the brand's official site. Fakes often get the toe box too bulky or too flat, and the heel too slim.
4. Feel the materials
Leather on genuine pairs generally feels supple and creases naturally. Plasticky, shiny or stiff material is suspicious. A strong chemical glue smell can also point to a counterfeit.
5. Inspect the insole and sole
Branding on the insole and the tread pattern on the outsole should be crisp and symmetrical. Worn pairs will show wear, but the pattern itself should still look sharp and correct.
6. Read the seller, not just the shoe
Red flags include prices far below market, stock photos only, refusing to send tag photos, and vague descriptions. A good seller shows the inside tags, the soles and the flaws, and explains the condition clearly.

How we handle authenticity at Shanasa
We check stitching, tags and date codes on every branded pair before listing, with extra attention on the most-faked models. If we have any doubt, the pair is not listed. You can read more about how we work on our about page and how we describe condition on our grading page.
